The Church Library
A library is a great place to go when you feel bewildered or undecided, for there, in a book, you may have your question answered.” EB White
The Church Library now has over 300 titles in stock. A wide range of topics is covered, from in- depth theological discussion to straight-forward testimonies; for example there are books recounting the lives of a member of a rock band, a convicted thief, Ruth Archer (who has visited us, telling of her experiences in Papua New Guinea), a pastor in Afghanistan and many others. So whether your preference is for challenging study or exciting accounts of transformed lives, there should be something to suit most tastes
Most of these titles are short books, so do not take long to read. Even if you’ve never borrowed a book from the Church Library before, maybe now is the time to try one! After all, although the full bookcase looks nice, some gaps show that it’s serving its purpose! There is a list of titles, available for browsing, on a bookshelf.
Borrowing a book is very simple. So that we can keep track of where books are, we ask that the borrower fill in the loan sheet provided with:-
the book number (found inside the cover), borrower’s name, date taken out and date returned.
If anyone would be interested in setting up a Church Reading Group please contact Christine Seabridge (01633548966). It would be a very informal group with members discussing inspirational or devotional books that they have found helpful. Books could be from the Church Library or personal copies.
