It is now over six months since we sadly had to close the chapel for all activities. It has been a frustrating time for the Leadership and, at a time when we were beginning to look forward to re-opening core activities, it seems that we may have to proceed more carefully.
Midweek services are being held for our congregation who have not been able to join us for our Zoom services on Sunday. A somewhat different but fulfilling service. We are hoping that we will be able to have a Sunday service later in October – Covid-19 permitting. Life groups have recommenced all meeting in different rooms in the Chapel. It is also hoped that we may be able to hold a Church meeting in November. All activities will be closely monitored by the Leadership. Please help to keep us safe by following the instructions given by the leaders of the activities and complying with the guidance given on the posters in the Church.
I am pleased to report that Thomasina Brown has been offered and has accepted the position of Church/Community worker and will start with us on 1st November. She has been working at Nant Coch church in Newport and has a wealth of experience working with young people and in the Community. We are sure she will contribute greatly in developing the work of the Church.
Our 204th Church Anniversary was celebrated with a Zoom service and by giving out small gifts of biscuits and posies to the Community.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who has sustained the life of the Church in the current crisis with contributions to services, prayer meetings, mid-week reflections and Zoom café.
