Church News – March 2021
At the Leadership meeting on 4thMarch we agreed a provisional date to reopen the Chapel for services on 21st March, subject to confirmation at the Review group meeting on 15th March. This time we will be dividing the congregation into two groups with surnames A to J being able to attend on 21st and surnames K to Z on 28th and continuing on alternate weeks. The existing Covid protocols will still be in place and the services will continue to broadcast on Zoom for those who are unable to attend in person. Please check the notices from our Minister for up-to-date information.
The Leadership will be holding an ‘Awayday’ on Zoom on 20th March on the theme of ‘No Going Back’. We have been forced by the Pandemic into the technology of meeting for Services, Café, Prayer and other activities on Zoom and now want to explore how the Church goes forward into a new era. Have you any thoughts or ideas on this that you would like to share with us to help in the discussion at our meeting? Whether you’re a member or attendee this is a great opportunity to share your thoughts on the exciting future of your Church. Please e-mail them to me at enquiries@magorbaptistchurch.org.uk or, deliver or post, to my home address.
We are looking at whether we can hold the Annual General Meeting in May. If this is possible, we will be electing the Church Officers and three deacons. Davina and Jonathan will be standing down as Joint Treasurers. Are you willing or are you able to nominate a member to take on the role of Treasurer? Please continue to pray that we will be able to fill this important role in the Church. We will be inviting nominations as soon as the AGM is confirmed.
A date for your diary – Sunday, 4th July. Rev. Jim Thomas will be leading our Church Anniversary. Hopefully, we will all be able to celebrate together.
Blessings
Keith Arnold
Secretary
The Zoom celebrations will continue until further notice.
