Reopening of the Church
at 11am, with the live celebration running simultaneously with the Zoom celebration.
Due to the ‘social distance’ restrictions, strict control over numbers of people invited and allowed access is essential.
Therefore, we have apportioned the members and regular attendees into three groups.
Please note the following –
22 November – People with surnames beginning A – F are invited to come to the church.
29 November - People with surnames beginning G – M are invited.
6 December – People with surnames beginning N – Z are invited.
Please help to keep us safe by following the instructions given by the leaders and complying with the guidance given on the posters in the Church.
The Zoom celebrations will continue throughout.
We have continued to monitor the Covid-19 pandemic very carefully and have gradually been able to open more activities after the two-week firebreak. A Church meeting was held on 16
November and we were able to update the Church on the current status of Church activities. Having trialled a Zoom connection from the sound desk we are now able to hold a Sunday service in the Chapel and to broadcast it on Zoom to the groups not able to attend and our friends who have joined us from a distance. Details of the arrangements for attending are on the Home page. These will be reviewed at the end of the year when we may be able to change to alternate weeks depending on numbers attending.
As we now have capacity within the Chapel all members are now welcome to attend the Tuesday service that we are continuing to run currently up until 22
At present we are unable to include members who would like to attend Church meetings through a Zoom connection. In January, though, we hope to propose a change to the Constitution, by a special resolution, that will enable members to join by Zoom in time for the AGM.
Thomasina started on 1
November in her role of Church/Community Officer and Thomasina and her husband, Simon, were admitted to membership at the Church meeting. She is already getting to know people and has been able to help Harry with the preparation of service and community activities.
Regrettably, because of the Covid restrictions we will be unable to have the Post box in the Chapel this year. There will be a Christmas edition of the magazine and John will include a Christmas greetings page – for a donation to BMS – of course
The dates for the Advent period are as follows:
Advent Sunday - Live service from the Church+Zoom
Communion service from the Church+Zoom-
Tuesday service with Communion
Christingle Family time on Zoom
Men’s Curry night (Contact John Loebl)
Saturday morning QR trail and Giveaway
Nativity Live service from Church+Zoom
Carol Praise – Live service from Church+Zoom
Christmas day Zoom celebration
No Tuesday service
Live service from Church+Zoom led by the Deacons
All that remains is to wish you a happy and joyous Christmas from the Church Leaders.
During this time that we are not able to hold services at the Chapel
we would encourage you to continue to use your offering envelopes on a weekly basis and place them on one side until we are able to re-commence services.
Alternatively, consider changing to giving by standing order –
please contact Davina or Jonathan for details of the Church account.
