Welcome to Magor Baptist Church!
Thank You for visiting our website!
We are a group of ordinary people brought together by a loving God who sent his Son Jesus Christ, to live in this world, to die in our place and to rise from the dead. We’re following him, trying to live out Jesus’ teaching, in our community today. We meet to worship on Sundays, in homes mid-week for closer friendship, and for a variety of activities at other times too. We take the Bible seriously and we try to make the Christian faith understandable to everyone, expecting God to change our lives by the transforming power of His Spirit. Most of us live within a few miles of the church building. We hope that whatever contact you have with us, through this website or by actually dropping in; you will feel welcomed by real people whose lives have been touched by the real and living God.
Around the site you’ll find a summary of who we are and general information about our activities.
If we can help you in any way please contact us.
We look forward to meeting you.

What should I expect when I visit the church?
You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. Our time together begins with news from the fellowship after which we focus on worshiping God and welcome the Holy Spirit to make the Lord Jesus Christ known to us. There will be a time of spoken and sung praise and worship for all ages with opportunity for those present to pray or read a passage from the Bible . After the children and young people leave for their own programme of activities there will be an interesting and thought-provoking sermon usually from our minister with a chance to respond at the end of the service.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.
What happens to the children at church?
We have a fantastic programme for the children using the Scripture union program at the Church for: All leaders are DBS checked.
Creche (birth to 3 years) allowing you to enjoy the service know your children are being looked after.
JAMS ( Jesus and Me) (4-7 years)
FROGS (Forever Rely On God Squad) (8-10 years)
Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children need to go to their programme. You will need to go with your children and register them, the first time they attend.
For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under church life.
Is there a dress code?
No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.
Will I have to join in?
Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
